How to Participate

We appreciate that folks are generally busy and therefore don't have a lot of time for activist activities. Keeping this in mind, we have outlined three areas of participation and our expectations for members of our group. Your personal level of participation is ultimately up to you, and we appreciate all of our members regardless of their level of contribution to our cause.

Daily Action Items

An action item is posted daily, Monday through Friday, to Twitter and Facebook.  This often involves a phone call to a representative in Congress or our state government, but could also include other activities like preparing for an upcoming event or group activity that will make progress toward our goals.

If you decide to become a member of our group, we ask that you participate in 2 - 3 action items per week.

You may see certain action items that are repeated. The goal in those instances is often to put pressure on our reps, so you may be calling about the same issue multiple times over a few weeks to a month.

Show up

Periodically there will be protests, rallies, and other group projects where attendance can be the largest determining factor of success. These are the times that we need the most support.

All we ask is that you show up to demonstrate your support and show the community that their neighbors care deeply about these issues.

We generally strive to provide as much notice as possible to drive attendance, but there are times when action is needed quickly to respond to current news items or atrocities perpetrated by our elected government officials.  So, be ready to respond quickly.  We usually don't need more than a couple hours of your time.

Attend Meetings

We strive to hold membership meetings every six weeks. These meetings will rotate between locations in Hamilton, West Chester, and Oxford. The goal of each meeting is to keep members informed of current actions being taken by the leadership team and to provide a forum for discussion.

We ask that our members strive to attend 2 out of 3 meetings held if you live in Butler County.

These meetings are a good opportunity for our members to dive deeper into the current issues and initiatives of the group. This will be your opportunity to provide feedback, ask questions, receive tips on best practices for success on action items, and share your experiences.
